Daisy Whytock worked in retail for several years before taking an Arts Management course at Sussex University where she developed a particular interest in fine art. She assisted in a number of Brighton galleries and then worked for the Gardner Arts Centre in Falmer, developing and generating more interest in their gallery. She left to have her son Felix and returned to her hometown, Tunbridge Wells where she started working at the art shop. After two years the opportunity to buy the business arose and she took it with both hands.
